Good Day!

I'm a Filipino 3rd year Mass Communication student of Far Eastern University doing an Investigative Report about homosexual men being the predominant people infected with the human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS).

I would like to ask you some questions regarding the sociological perspectives and issues of our topic. Your expertise will provide deeper insights and credible information and will make my research at par with international standards.

Here is the list of questions:

1. HIV/AIDS is usually linked by people to homosexual men. Why is this so?
2. The predominant population of Persons Living with HIV are mostly homosexual men. What are the sociological reasons why gay men have higher prevalence rate of infection with HIV/AIDS?
3. Describe how HIV/AIDS affects countries, groups, and cultures in different ways
4. What are the possible status transitions that Persons Living with HIV experience, particularly with infected homosexual men?
5. What is behind HIV/AIDS discrimination and stigma? How does this create a barrier to effective responses on HIV/AIDS?
6. How important is sex education to the prevention of HIV/AIDS?
7. The Philippines is a predominantly Catholic country. Do you think religion affects the country’s response to HIV/AIDS? Why?
8. How does a country’s economy play a role or affect the epidemic?
9. What measures did your country do to fight and control the epidemic? How effective is it?
10. What is the best solution to fight the HIV/AIDS? How do we achieve it?
